The P90X Transformation – My “Rebirthing”
At the suggestion of a few friends, I wanted to update my transformation video and make it look a little more professional. So, these are my P90X results from January 6th, 2010 to April 5th, 2010 as well as my final pic after 63 days of Insanity. Who knew that in 8 months, I could get in such crazy shape using nothing but these great programs from Beachbody. No extra running or weight work. Just pushing play almost everyday. For those that are considering the program or maybe started and couldn’t quite get through the first few weeks, my hope is you will make the commiitment and focus for 90 days. If you trust the program and bring the intensity, you can do it. I’m just a normal guy with an average amount of athleticism. No special genetics, just hard work and discipline. That is all you need. I’d be honored to help you reach your fitness goals. You can see more about me at: www.TeamInfernoX.com www.facebook.com/nathan.averill
Congrats on the change and thanks for the motivation…..!!! But wassup with the Dexter killroom backdrop??? lol… just teasing… nice work man..
I couldn’t finish plyometrics on day 2
@mhinit Hah. Although I do love Dexter, my workout room was not modeled after a killroom. It’s all part of our plumbing system. Anyway, thanks for props. Good luck on your transformation.
@tbscrazy12 I know the feeling. Plyo Week 1 was extremely rough for me as well. I probably completed less than 50% of it. Just focus on getting better each week and by Week 12, you will be nailing it!
@onintwo34 Thanks for the advice, and encouragement. Yoga was awkward today, and fun. I’m afraid to do legs, still sore from plyo.
Im 16, 5′ 8″, 135 Ibs, 7% body fat. I have a naturally high metabolism. Do you think it’s necessary for me to follow the nutrition plan or will I be able to get great results with out it?
@Macklin77 At 7% body fat and 135 lbs, I”m guessing you are looking to put on some mass. P90X is mainly designed as a weight loss program but can easily be modified for bulking. You certainly can’t expect to put on a bunch of lean muscle mass without eating clean. What does your current diet consist of?
@onintwo34 Now I’m at 6.8% and 138 Ibs. My current diet is pretty poor. I eat out a lot, primarily fast food, and rarely pay attention to the nutritional information. The only thing I’ve modified is I no longer order french fries or drink soda. Also I recently snagged a pair of Bowflex Selecttech dumbbells. The ones that range up to 90 Ibs. So I’ve upped my weight tremendously. So I suspect that should greatly benefit me for gaining mass. By the way, sorry for the long reply.
i suppose to get p90x soon, i have always struggled with my weight the highest ive been was 245 and im down to 190 on a good day and i was hoping to get in great shape i just got to stay dedicated to the program, I do think my only problem would be the pullups because of my door frames right now i got the iron gym pullup bar and i was wondering if u had any advice on that, Also great job on your transformation
This video is so inspirational. YOU ARE THE FUCKING MAN MY FRIEND. I’m currently on day 17 and I’ve been bustin my ass. I hope I get good results like u did =)
@nizhdar Keep bustin it man. You will be amazed at the results. It makes my day to hear that I provided even the slightest bit of inspiration. That’s why the video is on here.
Hey do you need a full set of dumbbells or is it ok to just get one, and then add weights to it?
5-7 meals a day, eat clean and you’ll be ripped at day 90 =), im already seeing nice results at day 7 xD… can’t wait till day 90
@dragonx85 the key for me wasn’t necessarily eating 5-7 meals a day. I simply ate when I was hungry and eliminated starchy carbs. not a calorie counter at all. oh, and I worked my rear end off in each and every workout. Glad you are seeing results already. Day 90 will be glorious.
2:47 Those aren’t wide pull ups, those are normal pull ups.
Nice change on the lighting too, perhaps keep the same lighting so not to fool yourself
Did u use any supplements? Any advice on how to do pullups (I can’t do one)?
@WNxMercy Maybe your right but I don’t feel like I fooled myself into anything. I’m pretty happy with the progress I made in 90 days. Lighting is exactly the same in Day 60 and 90 pics.
@djpunk555 Sure. Use a chair immediately after fatigue sets in. Even though it might seem like you are using all legs to get over the bar, your back, lats, and rear delts are still firing and getting stronger. Supps I used were Fish Oil every morning, Shakeology, Jack3d on strength training days only and the P90X Recovery drink. Worked well for me.
Did you follow the meal plan? I feel like that is the hardest part for me. Plus, i have seen a lot of people do insanity after p90x. is there any reason for this ? which would you recommend for a beginner between the two program ?
@WNxMercy I guess wide is a pretty relative term. My hands are wider than my shoulders so thats wide in my book.
@laparry202 Didn’t necessarily follow the nutrition guide but I was very focused on what I ate. Never counted calories but kept a close watch on carbs. From Day 45 on, I was consuming about 75g carbs/day. Had plenty of energy to push hard in each and every workout.
@laparry202 I did Insanity immediately after Round 1 of The X. Went from 8.9% body fat down to 7.1%. So…yes I would recommend going for Insanity after a full 90 days of X’ing it.
@onintwo34 So I just started P90X but during the first workout I only completed like half of each exercise. I am very out of shape so is this normal and do i just keep working on it? Thanks for a response and great results man.
@tacoman775 Don’t beat yourself up about not getting through the Chest and Back the first time through. That workout is a mother even after 90 days. My advice is to modify the pull-ups by using a chair and hit the pause button often. Also, do as Tony says and write everything down. Be religious about it. Keep after it man and you will be amazed.
